 How To Buy

Top 8 Easy Tips for Buyers

1. Check the Seller's Profile
You can see details about the seller by clicking on his/her profile.

2. Know The Item On Which You are Purchasing
Make sure this is what you want, once your offer is accepted, there is no turning back! If you have any questions about the item, ask the seller at any time during the sales process.

3. Terms or Conditions?
Ask the seller questions about the terms or conditions. Who pays for shipping? What is the guarantee? Can a credit card be used? Is escrow needed? These are some of the relevant questions you may want answered before making a bid.

4. Be courteous - not curt!
Take the time to be polite. Stay away from frivolous questions. The golden rule should be practiced at all times.

5. Take Advantage of Proxy Bidding on Auction Items
This is an excellent tool at all bidders fingertips. You place a bid that is the maximum price you would be willing to pay for an item. Bids are placed for you, as necessary, as other bidders increase the price. You will never bid more than is required because bidding is done for you in the smallest increments and never more than your maximum. See Proxy Bidding Example.

6. Double Check Your Offer
Remember - It is not good business to make an offer to buy and not follow-through. For auction items, offers to buy are generally not retractable, so have fun, but be careful.

7. Contact the Seller
Contact the seller after purchasing or within three days of the end of an auction. Make sure you exchange all pertinent details with the seller (including names, telephone numbers and addresses). Be prompt with payment. This is good Business.

8. Protect Yourself Against Fraud
Be smart when paying for your item. If you can't use credit card, send a personal check, money order or bank draft. Never Send Cash!
