Executive summary: Son of Tribune founder Leon Dupuch, Etienne took over the editorial chair of The Tribune in 1919. A highly distinguished journalist, he received recognition and commendations from the Queen, Kings, Presidents and the Pope. Sir Etienne served in the House of Assembly for 24 years. He is credited as being the major catalyst for equal rights in The Bahamas after staunchly defending his proposed resolution in Parliament to ban racial discrimination in 1956.
