I have a customer that has a property on Eleuthera. He is looking to get a mortgage on the property. Is there any US bank that lend for properties on the island -- Or do we have to use a bank on Eleuthera?

I can't see a US bank mortgaging a Bahamian property. There is no legal recourse in that transaction.

But, you probably don't need a bank in Eleuthera, perhaps just any Bahamian-based bank.

We own property in Eleuthera and had no problem getting a US bank to morgage it. I believe most Americans there do it this way. Your realtor can give you advise.

I am a Mortgage Broker in Boca Raton, Florida. I'm looking to find a Mortgage company or Bank for 4.5 million property purchase in the Bahamas by Harbour Island. My customer has money from a trust fund. Can verify 90 million in the Trust in England. Has 750 scores here in the US. Wants to finance if he can because of exchange rates. Looking to put 30% down.
