Yes, most of the hotels have bikes available, some offer them to guests for free.

There is an excellent biking path right on Cable Beach and also some nice areas for biking on the roads that run off of Bay Street, near the golf course.

If one wanted to bring their own road bike and pedal 30-50 miles a day- do the islands have the roads capable of this? I am off to the Bahamas in Februart for a vacation- and being a competitive cyclist- I want to know if it makes sense to bring my racing bike or not?

To answer Mark, yes by all means bring your own bike, a great way to see the Bahamas. You can visit other islands by ferry too. Bring proof of ownership and license the bike for $10.
