Will i need a passport when visiting the bahamas from the U.S. or are only a birth certificate and driver's liscence required?

Until January 2007, you do not need a passport. A birth certificate and photo ID is sufficient.

The new passport law was going to go into effect in January, 2006, but the US extended the deadline.
