Rental car in Eleuthera
Car rental in Eleuthera is very informal. To my knowledge, there are no big international companies renting cars there.
Usually, there is little paperwork. Basically, you meet a local at the airport who solicits your business, sets a price and gives you the keys. Usually the cars are slighted aged, but in good shape. Occasionally you can get a new Jeep. Prices vary, depending on how long you want the vehicle, but you should not spend more that $60/day for a car, and $70/day for a jeep. Weekly rates are negotiable.
Remember, you must drive on the LEFT side of the road, as in England.

I have been offered a car rental WITHOUT any kind of insurance.
Some people told me it is a common practice, but is this LEGAL in the Bahamas family islands? Who pays if I damage/injure another car or people?
I am a little scared of renting a car under these conditions.
I hope to get an answer as soon as possible since I am leaving for the Bahamas very soon.

Yes, it is quite normal (and legal) to NOT be offered insurance for Family Island car rentals.
