I will be ariving at the Nassau Beach Hotel and I was wondering how it is. I have read mixed reviews and I am not sure what to expect. I was also wondering what kinda neighborhood is it in? Are the beaches nice? Is it safe to walk around at night when coming home from a bar or night club?
Thanks

You can expect to have a great time on the nicest beach on the island.

The neighborhood is very safe and there is plenty to do, in and around the hotel, or within walking distance.

But don't let that stop you from taking a jitney bus ($1.00) to downtown Nassau, where you'll find world class duty-free shopping and a plethora of restaurants.

From there, take a water taxi to Paradise Island to view one of the world's greatest vacation destinations - the Atlantis Resort. There are plenty of public areas to explore, shops to visit, a variety of restaurants and, of course, the casino. There is also a Bahamian crafts centre and other stores and restaurants outside the Atlantis resort. Not to mention a spectacular white sand beach that seemingly stretches forever.

Regarding the clubs at night and returning home from the clubs - they are quite safe but it is recommended that you taxi home and excercise the same common sense and caution you would in any major city.

I'd rate the Nassau Beach Hotel at 3 stars. It makes a good base for a Nassau vacation.

My family and I just spent 2 weeks in the Nassau Beach and had a great time.I had read the same mixed reviews of this hotel and had no idea what to expect. The hotel is old and some of it shows but that is quickly forgotten by the attitude of the staff, everyone was extremely friendly and the maid service was excellent, if you do have a problem just ask at the front desk and it will be resolved no arguements. The hotel is fortunate to have a really nice bar 'Da Island Club'(say hi to the manager he found my son's wallet and returned it to the front desk)and for a restaurant 'Johnny Canoe's is next door, be sure to be there on Friday evening for the mini Junkanoo parade, you may also like to try out Montague Gardens restaurant it is excellent and quite reasonable. As for the beach it has to be one of the best on the island. It is in a really nice neighbourhood and the jitney bus stops right outside take these downtown and save a fortune in cab fares.Hope this alays your fears ,have a great time,we did and are hoping to return next year.
