Going with a group of friends for New year's and wanted to get information on both resorts. We are leaning towards Radisson b/c I heard it is a bit nicer.
Also how is the beach at Radisson? Very Crowded? Blue Waters, Calm Waters? Beach Umbrellas?

Any information on the rooms? Is it worth it to pay extra and go for the high floor ocean view rooms?

I visit Nassau on a regular basis and I always stay at the Radisson. The facilities are great (rooms, 5 restaurants, shopping, casino, walking trail, fitness center, golf course, etc. - all without leaving the resort area), and the beach is superb (clean, calm, clear waters, coral reefs, good snorkling). Most of all, the people are THE best - great hospitality - this is the single most reason that I keep coming back. I would highly recommend the all-inclusive package (all food, drinks, water activities, golf, etc. included - great deal!). You must try a Riviera Sunset drink (preferrably at the swim-up bar). The rooms are all good. I would not recommend the extra expense of a upgraded room. If you go, say 'Hi' to Romel, Mandy, Amica, Precious, Brown Sugar, Scott, Johnny, Leonardo, and the rest of the gang for me.

The Radisson now blows! I just got back and what a nightmare. They sold the place to a developer who now owns the Crystal Palace Casino and Windham Hotel next door; they plan to raze the places and build a super club soon. We had to wait an hour each morning in line to make a dinner reservation for the next night; they wouldn't allow any reservations for more than one day at a time. The hotel was overbooked, and understaffed. We had to fight for a position at the outdoor bar to get drinks, and because we were "all inclusive" (i.e. didn't have to tip), we got lousey service and a lot of atttitude. I would never, I repeat never, go back there again. Spend the extra bucks and stay at Atlantis on Paradise Island or you'll be sorry. I didn't expect anything other than fast and courteous service, and I did't get anything close to it. Sorry to say, but the Radisson has now been downgraded to a two-star hotel. We were told is was a four-star by our travel agent, but others at the resort said when they last checked, it was downgraded.

I just got back from the Radisson and it was the worst vacation ever! The food was horrible, the room smelled, the buffett restaurant smelled like a dirty wet rag. The restaurants were either closed or booked. Putting a Do Not Disturb sign on your door doesn't mean a thing, they will ring your phone at 9:30 in the morning or just barge in your room. I wouldn't stay there again if it were a free vacation!

Sorry to hear about the Raddison, I was getting ready to book a vacation in Janurary. I don't know where to go now. Was wanting to go all-inclusive. Can you give me any advise. Thinking about Atlantis but it's pretty pricey. What about Breezes? Is it better to not go all-inclusive and but food? Thanks for any advise

All the cable beach resorts are not what they use to be. (I hear sandals is staying) The properties have been sold and there is no reason for the current owners to put money into mainting their resort or enticing tourists to go back. What a shame since it was my favorite travel destination. Paradise island is more expensive and I don't know of any all-inclusives that doesn't force you to leave the resort for entertainment. (as did cable beach)

We stayed at the Atlantis 10/25-10/31 and had a great time. The place is absolutely beautiful and huge! It is pretty costly, so bring your checkbooks. There are ways to go cheaper thoug. Paradise Island does have good restaraunts and shopping that are cheaper. Also, the new Bihimi Road restaraunt(spelling?) is pretty reasonable (and the food was great) for Atlantis standards.

Anybody stayed at the Radisson since the construction has begun in July? Mid 20s couple planning a vacation for late August and looking for a good place to stay. But concerned about spending a week at a construction site.
