We are planning on traveling to Paradise Island late spring 2006. Has anyone stayed at the Comfort Inn on Paradise Island recently, and if so how did they find it. I would love to avoid the high price of staying at the Atlantis, but do not want the quality of our trip to suffer to save money. How far was the walk from the Comfort Inn to the Atlantis and or the beach? Everything I read says a block or two, or adjacent to, or across the street from, the Atlantis. I would love to know exactly what that means..... Thanks for your help

I stayed at the Comfort Suites two weeks ago and had a great time. The hotel was clean and the service was fine.

Comfort Suites is directly across the street from Atlantis. That means, you walk out the door of Comfort Suites, take 50 steps and you are on Atlantis' propery.

But Alantis is HUGE, so be prepared to do some walking to get to the area you want. This is the same as if you were staying at Atlantis, except for those first 50 steps.

At Atlantis, all I did was show my Comfort Suites room card and I was treated the same as if I were a guest of Atlantis.

The best part, is the rooms at Comfort Suites are actually bigger than the basic rooms at Atlantis.

We are staying at the comfort Inn as well during thanksgiving. We stayed at the Atlantis in January and it was very expensive so its great to know you are treated equally. Does anyone know of a shuttle service I could call to set up transportation ahead of time from the airport to the hotel? Thanks!

No need to set up transportaton in advance.

Unless you have a very large group, or require special handling, you will have no problem getting immediate transporation to your hotel from the many, many taxis, shuttle buses and limos available at the Nassau airport. They are available any time the airport is open and the standard fares are listed on a large wall poster.

Should you still wish to arrange private transportation try contacting Drexel Gibson (Taxi #996), one of our favorite local cabbies.

BEWARE...Stay away from Comfort Suites. Stayed there a few months ago and it was a terrible experience. Our room had a view of the very active construction site. A very rude desk staff advised us that there was nothing else available.
- did not spend much time in the room, but did not like the wake up call at 6:30 every morning incl Sat & Sun. The room was not cleaned - the bed was straightened daily, the floor was always sandy and the bathroom was supplied with clean towels - thats it. If the housekeeper had to rely on tips based on a job well done they would get $0, The housekeeping fee is added to your bill - $4 per person per day - trash was left behind on several occasions in our room as well as along the hallways from guests putting it out there since the staff did not take it from the rooms, which would account for the roach problem in the hotel.
And personal belongings mysteriously disappeared.

Spend the extra cash for Atlantis, you will be glad you did.
