I heard that there is a Bacardi factory on the island and you can get a tour of it. Has anyone heard about this or taken the tour? I would love some more info. Thanks

Yes, I took a tour this past May. I had a great time enjoying the free drinks at the bar thats on the factory premises. However, we did not get to do a walk through of the actual factory that day because of a chemical spill. So the tour guide kindly gave us a history lesson right there on the spot while we were siping our free drinks. The bar area is beautiful, the marble craft manship of the place was amazing, it looked like everything was custom made. I would recommend checking it out. If you want to save some money, take the #10 bus into town and transfer to the #16 bus(by the straw market), which will take you right to the factory which is on Bacardi Road, the bus is only a dollar. The tour was free of charge when I went. Depending on what resort you are staying at, a chartered bus trip there could cost $15-$20. I do have a few pics of the place if you would like to see them.
