Has anyone or do you know anyone who has bought property at the new Bimini Bay Resort now under construction on North Bimini? I am very intrigued but would want to find out more information, as I've read about concern about environmental impact, etc.

Hi, I bought a condominium unit there. It is gorgeous! Ocean view, beautifully furnished. All the amenities are not up and running yet, but the restaurant and pool should be done by June. We just spent a week there and it was heavenly :-)

i have had the most horrible experience with bimini bay. my husband and i were just sailing by and here is what we have to say-
All of the employees are the most unprofessional, uneducated and the world’s best liars. I do not mean the Bahamian workers; I am referring to those employed in the US. They will tell you anything to get you to purchase here. I have heard of false promises, plans changing, lies about the supposed “rental opportunities”. They are a company hell bent on making a quick dollar at the expense of our earth and oceans. I know that with growth comes change, but when growth is being pushed by greedy, inconsiderate and downright stupid people it is never good. If they would just spend little more money on helping make the changes that are threatening to the environment instead of paying their CEO’s ridiculous salaries to purchase yachts and toys, maybe we could save the mangroves and coral reefs. With that said I strongly discourage anyone interested in purchasing at Bimini Bay to reconsider or have 100 lawyer read the contracts they try to feed you. Don’t buy into their sugar coated sales pitch… that is if you get a sales person that is relatively qualified to sell real estate.

You must be very perceptive to have garnered all that while you and your husband "were just sailing by".

You have failed to leave your name or any details that support what you say.

There are a lot of strong feelings, on both sides, about the development at Bimini Bay. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the Bahamas government to ensure that all stakeholders are satisfied.

This post started with someone asking if there was anyone who had actually purchased property at Bimini Bay. Let's go back to that.

My husband and I just purchased there. I had asked the other BB owner to email me, but have not heard anything. I think you must be extremely careful when buying property, (salesman are salesman) especially in a foreign country. I'm sure there are many unhappy people with the growth in Bimini and the destruction of the land/ocean; just as we are when DisneyWorld grows and grows and grows; but that doesn't stop it from growing. Hopefully the owners and the gov't will work together to protect the environment.
