We are planning a trip to the GBI late next May/early June. We will be take Discovery Cruise Ship/Ferry from Florida over and staying at Viva Fortuna. I have read alot of bad and good reports about Viva. However, we are on a budget and it's nice to know that everything "needed" is paid for once we arrive. This being the reason we went with the "all inclusive". I understand that the Discovery Cruise Ship/Ferry isn't a "luxurious cruise" and it isn't just a plain ferry service, but something in between. This is fine with us, as it will keep me from having to fly. We will just drive down to Florida.

This will be our very first vacation ever. We plan to spend most of time at Viva enjoying the activities they have to offer, but would like to go out elsewhere on the island 1 or 2 days for the day. Any place that is a "must see"?

We had considered maybe visiting one of the nearby islands. Any reccomendations or comments about this?

We both like nature and I love adventure. I hope to parasail while I am there. My husband would like to go deep sea fishing, a reputable company anyone would suggest doing this with?

We figured we'd just take a taxi or bus as opposed to renting a car. I hear taxis can be somewhat expensive if you take them alot.

When we "dress up" to go out that usually means jeans/collared shirt for my hubby and jeans/slacks and nice blouse for me, is this acceptable in the Bahamas and the restuarants? The whole purpose of trip is to RELAX and have FUN, getting dressed in what I consider "formal attire or suit/tie, and dress" isn't fun or relaxing for us. Please don't think we dress as bums or slobs, as we don't, just comfortable.

Any information, comments, suggestions you have to offer is appreciated.
