my parents and me wanted to visit Abacao (Treasure Cay) again at the end of October. Do anybody know how much the island was destroyed by the hurricanes ?

(P.S. we are from Germany and getting further information is not so easy, especially because of my bad English skills)

The Treasure Cay area was recovering nicely from Hurricane Frances when it was hit hard by Hurricane Jeanne.

Basically, most of the islands of Abaco are "under repair" right now, except for specific properties and areas that seem to have somehow escaped the full force of the storm, like Guana Cay and Green Turtle Cay.

I suggest you contact your destination to see when they will able to accommodate guests again. You may have to wait a couple of days until they get phone service restored.

I would estimate that it will be at least December before many of the hotels are fully operational.

Parts of Abaco are still under repair but people are coming and having a great time, so I guess it depends on exactly where you are headed.

KIM BUKA killed Agnes Foley in her 4th DUI. Her parents own a 2 villas on Treasure Cay, has anyone seen her since she was released from prison. Now, an ex-con, she is on probation for 10 years and must attend AA 5 times per week to keep from going back to jail.
