please see my post @...www.bahamas-mon.com/bahamaforum/realestate/864....i know there are a lot of pages about lucaya estates we should all try to use (1) any ideas?? the water problem is real as all freshwater in the bahamas is only available as ground water which comes as a result of railfall..90%of all freshwater is within 5 feet of the surface..the rest is barged or purchased.. reverse osmosis plannts are stating to emege which should help considerably..water is pricey but available..people have water there ..why not lucaya estates ...good question... ive been following a paper trail.. together we can find the answer.. i hate posting on more than (1) site i would like to get a site we all share... ideas please ..i will post more info soon...good luck all drd1957@comcast.net More info: Bahamas | Bahamas Vacations | Bahamas News | Bahamas Real Estate

My mother owns a lot in Lucaya Estates. I have not received the annual service charge statement so I went ahead and sent the check and a letter to the address in Coral Gables. The check has not cleared nor has it been returned. I've tried to call Lucaya Service Company Limited in Freeport but the number is not good. Is any one else having this problem? The Lucaya Estates Service Company updated their billing process last year. During the transfer, they did not send out any 2006 statements for "services." My grandmother's property was transferred to me and my sister. We did not rec a service bill this year. We are also interested in selling or developing. Any information is greatly appreciated. From what my associates tell me the land is still undeveloped and non of the lots have utilities run to them. The lots are acres subdivison and the grass is cut periodically. As I understand there are about 100,000 acres in the Lucaya estates. All lots are about an acre. In that case seeing that we all pay atleast $110 a year in service charges over the past 30 years someone was paid over $30 million. I want some answers as to why none of that money has went into developing my land so i can build on it. I have recently received "Demand For Payment" of service charges. I have had this property for several years and this is the first I've heard about service charges. (The property was bequethed to me from a friend) Does anyone know what the service charges are for since there are no roads or improvements done to the development; in fact I believe no one is allowed to build because of water table problems. If I fail to pay the $770. the Grand bahama Development co. will repossess the lot. Should I care? Any replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
