Bahamian Police Caught Soliciting Bribes

Two young boys were travelling by car in Elizabeth estates when they were pulled over by a police car containing three officers. One of the officers got the names of the two young boys, entered them in his computer and informed one of them that the records showed that he had a traffic violation. The young boy admitted that he did and the fine had been paid. They then informed the two boys that they found a paper clip outside the car so “they must have been smoking marijuana.”

They then informed the two boys that they could lock them up for the weekend but if they gave each officer $100 they would let them go. One of the boys had just collected his asue and between them they had $269 so the police settled for that.

So, the next time you hear that a crime has been committed and someone asks where the police are, you can tell them – they are somewhere frightening innocent people into giving them a bribe.

  • I just left a comment on one other article about how useless these police are. Seriously, I don’t even know why we have a police force, they don’t do any good and just cause more trouble than they are worth. Maybe not all, but too many of them.

  • Yes I must admit the cops were wrong for what they allegedly did, however, we are so much for condeming and highlighting the corrupt set of police officer, that we end up neglecting the good and helpful set of police officers that always give their free time in their communities to do good. For example there are a lot of them who are pta presidnets in school, some who coach primary and high school student in a lot of sporting activities. They also are apart of churches as deacons, pastors, and youth advisors and leaders, but they are never highlighted. Please tell me how come?
