Mario Carey Realty Names First Junior Partner
One full circle. That’s how successful real estate broker Carlyle Campbell, BRI, CIPS, described his journey this week after joining Mario Carey Realty as the real estate firm’s first junior partner. The move — and the partnership — seemed natural, said Campbell, who ‘grew up in the business’ under Carey’s wing when they were both at Bahamas Realty. It was there that Campbell became the only person in the company’s history to garner top awards in every category — top-selling, most improved and most exclusive listing agent.
Now, he says, though grateful for the training and support he received at his former firm, he wants to hone his skills under the super broker who was and remained his mentor.
“I started out under the direction of Mario Carey and even after he opened his own firm, he was always just a phone call away,” Campbell explained. “I’ve been in office for about two weeks now and the phones have not stopped ringing.”
Carey welcomed Campbell by making him the first partner in the independent firm that has grown dramatically with a team of young agents since it opened its doors in 2008.
“I am extremely proud to welcome Carlyle to MCR,” said Carey, president of Mario Carey Realty. “I’ve watched Carlyle grow and develop into a superior agent with an awesome record and incredible zeal for real estate.”
Campbell, one of only 1,600 brokers worldwide to carry the title of Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), is also a certified appraiser and recently earned certification as an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP), equipping him to give guidance to building owners on ideally showcasing properties.
“I am thrilled about the opportunity to partner with Mario,” said Campbell, a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta with a B.S. in Business/Finance.
“In addition to his demanding a positive work ethic and strong performance, what attracted me to the firm was its commitment to community.”
Carey is president of REACH (Resources & Education for Autism and Related Challenges) and led the trail in RIDE4AUTISM, a 100-mile cycling event to raise money for the autism support organization. The real estate firm recently hosted its 1st annual blood drive in an effort to replenish the reserves of the local hospitals and Mario Carey Realty coaches Little League baseball.
“This is an exciting time at MCR. We’re building a strong work force with new agents and will be expanding to the Family Islands in the near future,” said Carey. “I expect great things from Carlyle and seek to continuously guide him and others where necessary, ensuring that resources are made available to them for greater success.”
Mario Carey Realty, located in the New Providence Financial Center on East Bay Street, originally served a high-end niche market. Less than two years later, Carey launched a new division, MCR2, catering to first-time homebuyers in the under half-million dollar market. That division has reported record sales even in a challenging economy.
Campbell’s appointment was effective March 7.
