Jackson Burnside Limited is pleased to announce the continuation of its unique Architecture, Planning and Interior Design Practice at #18 Village Road under the new leadership of Bahamian Architect Dirk Saunders who was mentored by the Company’s Founder and Bahamian Design Legend, Jackson Burnside III who passed away in May after a sudden illness.

Saunders holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree and Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Science Management from Tuskegee University as well as a Master of Architecture Degree in Suburb and Town Design from the University of Miami and is a Registered and Licensed Architect in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

Having worked closely with Burnside in the Company for the past 14 years, Saunders stated that he was honoured to now head the firm in order to continue with the Company’s mission to be the design leader in the region through the delivery of the highest standards of quality service and product excellence, recognizing that they are dependent on a passionate commitment to constantly improve all aspects of their work whilst being a responsible contributor to the development of the local and global environment.

Established in 1994, Jackson Burnside Limited specializes in the areas of resorts, visitor attractions, commercial and residential real estate development with a distinct design style that is recognizable and appreciated worldwide. Believing in the important legacy inherent in the architectural heritage of The Bahamas, the Company has spent many years examining, researching and documenting these resources and incorporating them successfully into projects such as the Marina Village at Atlantis on Paradise Island and more recently, the conceptual design planning for the Downtown Nassau Revitalization Project.

Jackson Burnside Limited believes that their commitment to service demands that they share the lessons of their work and island heritage both nationally and internationally, and constantly strive to improve the society in which they exist. Fueled by their passion, Saunders and his team are poised to propel their Founder’s legacy into the future.
