You Are Weakening Yourselves And Not Realizing It

Take off your political blinders and/or your hurt over the General Election for a moment and understand the following: many Bahamians probably don’t realize this, but this constant chant that “Bahamians asked for this” in terms of all that the government is doing now, is actually dis-empowering Bahamians instead of empowering them.

The reality of the situation is, Bahamians by and large did not ask for what is being done to the country now. Sure it can be argued that people didn’t give due care and attention to why they voted the way they did, but when Bahamians voted, they did not ask to be abused, victimized, violated, economically and politically raped, and socially manipulated. They had very different things in mind when they voted, whether those things were fully based in facts or not.

When you push that message of “you asked for this”, what you are actually telling Bahamians is they are incapable of solving or pushing back against what is being done to them now, because their inherent thought-processes are flawed. In other words, you are telling Bahamians they cannot trust their own ability to recover from or reverse what they are seeing happen to them. When people lose trust in their own ability to fix their problems, they forever become and remain victims. They throw up their hands in helplessness saying “there is nothing we can do” and simply submit to whatever is being done to them.

You are actually telling Bahamians “sit down and take it cuz you deserve it” while at the same time telling them “stand up and fight”. Do you understand now why your chanting is not having the effect you may be hoping for?” No citizenry deserves to be violated – that is a slave’s mentality. Governments are elected to do a job. Stop telling one another that they deserve for elected officials not to do their job in a democracy – you are weakening yourselves by doing this.

There were many factors that played into the results of the 2012 General Election – the most potent of which many key people are refusing to be honest or forthcoming about. Stop beating one another down in the manner in which we have been taught to do, and start encouraging one another to do what is necessary as a people to bring about change – not simply of a Party in power, but of the quality of citizenry that is better able to recognize when, how and by whom it is being manipulated, and how to beneficially respond to the same.

  • Capt. Ron....yes from the movie

VAT will publicly “name and shame you for evasion”. In other words, you’ll probably never be able to get another job because of the reputation given to you by such a trustworthy Government. Are we in Iran? Are we going to be stoned to death too for evasion? Are we in Iran? Can you lead me to your nearest airport, I need to go back home. Is this Iran? I don’t see any camels anywhere.

    • I went to the airport, and they told me I was in the Bahamas already. But this can’t be true, because their leader is named Pharaoh Christie, and I hear his goon squad chanting “Christie the Great, Christie the Great”! Is this Egypt? Where the hell are the pyramids, I’ve always wanted to see them? Bahamians! you let this VAT pass, and your lives will be one of enslavement by Pharaoh Christie. And don’t expect an answer on how much his travels cost, it’s all on us, why should he care how much it cost! This clown met the Pope for one reason and only one reason! His ego is so big, that he wanted to be in the history books as the first Bahamian leader to meet the Pope at all cost, our cost!

  • Lionfish, my brother, the comments were not approved because it’s the truth, that’s why! Our corrupt Government doesn’t want us to know the truth, people can only unite if they know the truth!

    • Um, actually, the comments were not approved because they encourage a violent uprising against the government, which BahamasB2B will not endorse in any way.

Sure, we have a corrupt and incompetent government, but there are proper ways to get rid of these bums and violence is not one of them.

God said to Moses “The oppressors will let you go free, and you will plunder their riches on your way out of slavery”. But the oppressors didn’t let up, and God finally destroyed them all, even their horses die that day! Let’s see now…. our Government has been deceiving us for how long now? Um, actually I think I’ll bake a cake for those who oppress me and shake their hands in thanks for the way they have been treating me. When a leader talks down to his people, he is no longer my leader! I am a man! not a “F”-ing child you can degrade with your words! Remember Pharaoh Christie, you are just a man, not a God, we will never bow down to you and your army, never!

  • This post says that it has two comments. And the more recent post on VAT and foreigners explaining it to us says it has one comment. For some reason the comments are not posting. I have noticed this for a while. How do I read the comments?

    • Lionfish, I’ve noticed this too. Being familiar with the reputation of this government, I wouldn’t put it past them to have censored the free press.

  • Bahamians! Listen to another warrior who fights for you! She puts her life on the line everyday for you by writing the truth so you are well informed against the oppressor! We the Bahamian people, have to stop killing each other, for your neighbor suffers the same enslavement by this corrupt Government and it’s lying abusive leader. Even his family members are corrupted, America is investigating his cousin, the former PLP Treasurer, for money laundering. Ask yourselves this, “Did the Prime Minister know his cousin was laundering money”? He was the leader of the party, he had to know, or he is more incompetent that we thought. This is the only way the PLP can turn dirty drug money into clean money so it can be deposited into their foreign bank accounts! Meanwhile the suffering Bahamian caught with a small amount of marijuana is thrown is jail and they gain from his loss! Bahamians! don’t let them blind you with their lies anymore.
