The Water and Sewerage Corporations is another utility company that is now committed to moving and progressing towards becoming more eco conscious as they recently purchased a substantial amount of cold patch products from local manufacturer, Caribbean Paving Solutions to utilize in their projects.

Caribbean Paving Solutions, a subsidiary of Bahamas Striping Group of Companies, supplies and manufactures pavement rejuvenators, and cold patch asphalt. The products are eco friendly which are used to fix and rejuvenate surfaces specifically for tropical climates.

Mr. Keith Beneby, Senior Engineer at The Water and Sewerage Corporation said, “Supporting local manufacturers and utilizing green products is important to the Corporation.”

He added, “The product offered by Caribbean Paving Solutions was much cheaper than our foreign suppliers and naturally accessibility was also a factor as the products will be used mainly in the Family Islands for repairing road trenching during our various work projects.It provides the Corporation with tremendous economic savings that would eventually allow us to become more efficient and provide better service.”

Caribbean Paving Solutions, President, Atario Mitchell indicated that the products are guaranteed to provide huge savings in the public and private sectors because they will have a less expensive price point. CPS is the exclusive dealer in the Bahamas and in the Caribbean for this cold patch. As of June 2015 it will be manufactured in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, which will add significant social and economic benefits such as jobs, skills creations, and most importantly it has an eco-friendly appeal which is in keeping with their mandate to use environmentally safe products.
