(which is sales and marketing) the Dev ltd. employees 217 people. the Dev ltd. side layed off more than 140 people and today conducts business with a small in house crew of twelve sales staff. and a support staff of 12 people. up until today, they didn't even had a operator. so they decided to rehire one of them they had fired. Well then, who are the corrupt officers that he admits are still working in the Immigration department? And just what is Mr McCartney doing about them? No matter, the persons who retired have been in charge of, or working at, Immigration for some time. If there is rampant corruption in the department - and even Mr McCartney admits there is - then these men are responsible for that corruption and deserved to be fired for incompetence, if not corruption. What they did not deserve... is to be retired with honours or pension.

My fellow Bahamians; you are now reading words actually written by Jesse Jerome Dean, Jr., from within the confines of the Federal Correctional Complex in Coleman, Florida. This is a desperate plea for your assistance. I know that we Bahamians are a very docile people. Except for the rare occasion, we do not feel the need to agitate or demonstrate for a change or to advance a particular position, especially in legal matters. We simply EXPECT that those in authority will "do the right thing" or that the courts will rule according to the law. However, in the United States, Americans routinely "lobby" for one thing or another, even "justice" in particular cases. In fact, "lobbyists" are actually very well-paid! I have now needlessly endured almost 161 MONTHS in federal prison for a crime that I did not commit! As a businessman, I know that all the promises and commitments in the world stated by Senator Obama aren't worth all the shells in the sea if he isn't the "agent of change" he claims to be. He didn't enact any change as a state senator in Illinois nor did he lead any "change" legislation in Congress. Now with that record , or non record, How do you really spell CHANGE? Think about it. What record does he stand on, except as having NO RECORD whatsoever. You may like the way he talks the talk but his record shows he never walked the walk. Nuff said?

This man may have been born an American... Chances are you're nieghbor isn't a natural born Bahamian. But have they contributed as he has to the Ranfurly Home, or have been so extensively invovlved in Bahamian rehabilition programs. When other companies involve major foriegn workers, this man utilizes local contracters. This man cares more for this country and it's well being than any of his critics can imagine. He, if not born here, is a true Bahamian, who cares for this nation and it's people, or people... I am his son, and I have lived here since I was seven years old. To hear comments that I can only say are grossly uninformed but offensive to some-one who cares deeply for a country they have come to call their home and their childrens home. Well Bahamas, guess you're lucky old "yesitsbetter" decided not to visit your lovely country, maybe he would be more comfortable visiting Cuba. That's the direction that Obama wants to take the US after all and his victory would be bad for the taxes he plans to raise in the US and to stifle investment in the Bahamas. Obama says he will cut taxes on 90 per cent of the middle class and increase government spending by $350 billion dollars, how? And Mr. yesitsbetter doesn't seem to realize that Senator McCain raised the issue of Fannie and Freddie solvency two years ago in Congress and was told by Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, both democrats, that everything was fine which were a big part of this financial meltdown. I love the Bahamas and plan to come back as soon as I can and am glad I won't run into yesitsbetter on the streets of Nassau. Just hope I don't run into him here in Washington, DC.

I dont know about in the Bahamas, but I am a small business owner. In fact I own three. I do not earn more than $250,000 a year and Obamas plan will Put more money in my business so I can make it grow. If you have no idea how the tax system in the USA works or how small business is beaten to the ground with taxes then keep your trash talking to yourself. My vote is for Obama. We've done the republican party for 8 years and you see what its gotten us right? How is YOUR economy doing? Pretty bad isnt it. Thank BUSH and his republican morons for our trouble. Where is the opposition in light of all this foolishness going on in this country against a Bahamian Citizen seeking justice. My God, for those of us following the Cash story we know they just don't have the money to get proper representation in court but one would think that those opposition members who are always speaking out on other matters, especially those who are lawyers, would step forward and not allow this woman and her family be dragged through the mud by a bigot and a bully who is obviously taking advantage of the situation. All I can say is like the old folks used to say, " Every Dog gat their day!" Justice Sawyer was out of order to treat a Bahamian citizen the way she did. Totally out of order and the thing that really got me is she want to demand respect but feel she don't have to give respect. No government should allow a Judge to treat a citizen the way she did and I think they should retire her immediately.
