Sawyer's Sales Decline
The country's largest canning operation is again calling for an increase in duties on foreign imports, only two months after the government rejected an earlier petition, and as it suffers through a 10 percent sales decline threatening to seal its fate.

"We've been close to running out of business, were it not for demand for guava jam, which has itself begun to fall off," said part owner and manager for Sawyer's Food Products Michael Sawyer. "This year sales are down 10 percent already and that's been going on since 2001 when the government lowered the duties on imported pigeon peas.
