Yesterday was the grand opening of Sol Kerzner's newest property, The Mazagan Beach Resort in El Jadida, Morocco. This 5-star resort is built right into the sand dunes and sits n a 4.3 mile beach about 55 miles southwest of Casablanca.
The 500 room mega-resort includes an 18-hole golf course, the Mazagan casino and Sanctuary Night Club which promises a "New York style" party. It also houses a huge conference room.
Friday is a public holiday in Morocco, celebrating the anniversary of Green March. Appropriately, the Mazagan will be running a special package. It includes a 2-night minimum stay, VIP treatment with fruits and Moroccan pastries upon arrival, breakfast and one free drink per person at the Palm Grill. Based on double occupancy for two nights is roughly 4,400 MAD (Moroccan Dirham) or about $576 in US Dollars.
