My wife and I are moving over to Grand Bahama and intend building our home next year. We have received our permit and intend on investing hundreds of thousands over the next 2 years on renting and building our home.
However on a recent visit, we were told we could be waiting years for a PO Box, and we need one NOW, to redirect our mail from USA and Europe to our Bahamas PO Box.
We are now considering moving back to Europe and canceling all investment plans in GB, just because we cannot get a PO Box. If the Bahamas wants to encourage investment in their country they need to address this issue urgently.

eugene maybe I can be of some assistance. You can get a U.S. mailbox locally on the island of Grand Bahama. Anything sent to your U.S. mailbox will be sent here for you to pick up. I have been using one for years and I find it to be much more convenient than a PO Box. They also give you a local address number for it so you can use it for your bills in the Bahamas. Check out The Mail Drop in downtown Freeport. They are listed in the phone book.
