Netflix is exapanding into the<br \/>\nBahamas. That could be bad news for Cable Bahamas, who recently<br \/>\nintroduced their new REVTV product.  Also, for Galleria Cinemas, who<br \/>\ncharges an arm and a leg to watch movies in cramped little rooms with<br \/>\nlousy sound<\/p>\n<p>But it is good news for just about everybody else..<\/p>\n<p>The Nassau Guardian reports that Steve Swasey, vice-president of<br \/>\ncorporate communications at Netflix, said he thought the timing is<br \/>\nright to launch the internet streaming service locally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes it is [launching in The Bahamas] later this year with Spanish,<br \/>\nPortuguese and English content,\u201d he confirmed.  \u201cWe were\u2008based only in<br \/>\nthe U.S. until last year when we launched in Canada [and] we\u2019ve seen<br \/>\ndramatic growth, and it\u2019s been very rewarding to see that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe decided to push through to another market&#8230;  The time is just<br \/>\nright for Netflix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Source: Nassau Guardian<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Excellent news for movie buffs.
