{"id":10670,"date":"2011-08-02T08:32:38","date_gmt":"2011-08-02T12:32:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=10670"},"modified":"2011-08-02T08:32:38","modified_gmt":"2011-08-02T12:32:38","slug":"cable-bahamas-to-offer-ip-phone-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2011\/08\/cable-bahamas-to-offer-ip-phone-service","title":{"rendered":"Cable Bahamas To Offer IP Phone Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cable Bahamas is joining voice over cable and announced on Wednesday it will be the first to offer high-quality IP telephone service.<\/p>\n<p>With many Bahamians now utilising The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC)s VIBE service, the introduction of this new service will provide customers with another option.<\/p>\n<p>Cable Bahamas disclosed that they have selected Nokia Siemens Networks&#8217; platforms and services to roll out the services.<\/p>\n<p>The leading cable and broadband service provider in The Bahamas boasts that the high-quality service will be attractively priced.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are seeing an increased demand for converged communications services among our subscribers,&#8221; Cable Bahamas Chief Executive Officer and President, Tony Butler said in a release.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Jakob, head of business development for the Caribbean at Nokia Siemens Networks, also pointed out in the release that convergence is a big opportunity for communications service providers.<\/p>\n<p>Cable Bahamas is expected to launch its fixed line voice service in August 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cable Bahamas plans to offer high-quality IP telephone service starting in August.
