On the heels of launching EZTop-Up, an expanded distribution network for adding cell phone airtime, BTC today unveiled the first phase of a promised $1 million in promotions, Mad Mondays, adding value to every minute of cell phone air time purchased on Mondays.<\/p>\n
“Mad Mondays will help pre-paid mobile phone customers start the week off right with bonus airtime every time they top up and in any way they top up,” said Marlon Johnson, BTC VP of Sales & Marketing.<\/p>\n
Pre-paid customers topping up their accounts with EZTop-up or with a phone card on Mondays will benefit from bonus minutes added to their accounts. The promotion starts this Monday, August 8 and runs through Monday, November6.<\/p>\n
“Buy a $10 card and get $1 in bonus minutes,” Johnson explained. “Buy a $20 card and get $3 in bonus minutes. Buy the $50 card and get $10 bonus minutes. Buy $100 and get $25 bonus minutes. That’s a minimum of 10% and as high as 25% in savings for every purchase of $10 or more if you purchase your minutes on a Monday.” With EZTop-Up, customers also have a wider choice of airtime purchase options and can add any amount from $1 to $99 every time they top up.<\/p>\n
Mad Mondays is the latest in a series of customer-focused initiatives undertaken in recent months by the newly-privatized company. On Independence Day, BTC made inter-island mobile calling easier for consumers with the removal of the 18 cents long distance connection charge on calls originating from mobile phones.<\/p>\n
Customers can make calls or text to anywhere in The Bahamas using either seven digits (e.g. 225-5282), ten digits (e.g. 242-225-5282) or eleven digits (e.g. 1-242-225-5282). BTC also eliminated the need to call more than a dozen numbers for different services, introducing a single number for all calls to request repairs, new or restored service, changes to features, billing inquiries or other services.<\/p>\n
