Several areas of the New Providence experienced yet another round of load-shedding yesterday, despite the Bahamas Electricity Corporation’s recent promises that there would be no more rolling blackouts on the island.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued by BEC management, they said they are experiencing generation shortfall once again due to further challenges with two generators.<\/p>\n
The company is expecting rental generators in later this month but the implication is also that there could be more load-shedding before that happens.<\/p>\n
“BEC expects the 20 MW of standby generator units to be operable by mid-August.\u00a0 Similarly, the Corporation continues to refer to its Generation Assistance Plan (GAP) to limit the number of customers impacted during periods of shortfall.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
