{"id":109543,"date":"2015-04-08T10:16:55","date_gmt":"2015-04-08T14:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=109543"},"modified":"2015-04-08T10:16:55","modified_gmt":"2015-04-08T14:16:55","slug":"btvi-presidential-search-committee-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2015\/04\/btvi-presidential-search-committee-announced","title":{"rendered":"BTVI Presidential Search Committee Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-109544\" alt=\"bahamas-technical-vocational-institute\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/bahamas-technical-vocational-institute.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/bahamas-technical-vocational-institute.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/bahamas-technical-vocational-institute-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Chairman of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI), Felix Stubbs, wishes to announce that a Presidential Search Committee has been appointed by the institution\u2019s board to find a president, pursuant to Section 7 of the BTVI Act 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The individual will replace Dr. Iva Dahl, who has headed the institution for nearly 10 years and is expected to be in place for the 2015\/2016 school year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the interest of transparency, an open search will be conducted to field a wide selection of viable candidates,\u201d said Mr. Stubbs.<\/p>\n<p>The Presidential Search Committee is comprised of stakeholders from across the BTVI community, inclusive of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mrs. Rubie Nottage, Chairperson and Board Director;<\/li>\n<li>Mrs. Thelma Grimes, Board Director;<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Kevin Basden, Board Director;<\/li>\n<li>Mrs. Myriam Stapleton, BTVI Alumni Representative;<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Ted Sofianos, External Professional Educator Representative;<\/li>\n<li>Mrs. Alicia Thompson, BTVI Administration Representative;<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Charles Kemp, BTVI Instructor representative and<\/li>\n<li>Ms. Donette Sinclair, Board Secretary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A presidential profile will outline the desired qualifications and qualities of the prospective president and will be the benchmark for the ideal candidate. That profile will be published shortly via BTVI\u2019s website and newspaper advertisements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe presidential profile will act as a guide as we seek a Bahamian candidate of excellence.
