Crystal and Victor Rodriguez<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Tues. 9\/13, stars came together at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre in Pasadena to present CONCERT FOR VICTOR: A BENEFIT. All proceeds from the concert go to 23-year-old Victor Rodriguez and his family.<\/p>\n

In June 2011, Sacramento newlyweds Victor and CrystAl Rodriguez went parasailing on the last day of their honeymoon in the Bahamas. At a height of approximately 200 feet their harness snapped, and they fell into the ocean.<\/p>\n

Crystal was killed, and Victor suffered severe injuries. Neither of them had health or life insurance. They had only been married 12 days.<\/p>\n

The intimate evening featured musical performances by Monika Beal (Long Beach Opera’s Philip Glass’ Akhnaten), Let’s Make a Deal’s Wayne Brady (Broadway’s Chicago), 30 Rock’s Todd Buonopane (Broadway’s The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee), Ava Gaudet (Broadway’s Rent), Julie Garnye (Broadway: CHESS and HAIR in Concert, National Tour of CATS, Les Miserables at The Hollywood Bowl), The Office’s Melora Hardin (Broadway’s Chicago), Devin Kelly, Charley Izabella King (Broadway’s The Producers), Leigh Ann Larkin (Broadway’s Gypsy & A Little Night Music), High School Musical: Get in the Picture’s Jennifer Malenke (Broadway’s Into The Woods – Revival), & That’s So Raven’s Anneliese van Der Pol (Broadway’s Beauty & The Beast).<\/p>\n

The evening was co-produced by Sacramento-area native Jonathan White, and hosted by director\/co-producer Jordan Kai Burnett. PASADENA NOW provided online media sponsorship for the event.<\/p>\n
