{"id":13796,"date":"2011-10-17T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-10-18T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?guid=e1d45e9677538477c2cd27e7a748096b"},"modified":"2011-10-19T09:16:15","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T13:16:15","slug":"bfsb-targets-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2011\/10\/bfsb-targets-asia","title":{"rendered":"BFSB Targets Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) last night said it was spearheading a business development mission to Asia, starting on October 24 with stops in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Asian market, with its growing influence and importance to global economic growth, increasingly will play a greater role in the development of financial centres in the Americas,&#8221; said Paul Winder, BFSB&#8217;s chairman.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our strategic plan for the sector recognises that the Bahamas must be an active player in Asia, and therefore it incorporates steps to grow business from this region.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In Hong Kong on October 24 and 25, under the banner Bahamas Landfall:  Destination Hong Kong, breakfast and luncheon presentations have been  scheduled for intermediaries and business leaders.
