\u201cThe \u2018Bahamas Realty Holiday Home Showcase\u2019 is our way of spreading the joy of the Holiday Season,\u201d says Robin Brownrigg, president of the 62-year-old company. \u201cIt\u2019s a fun-filled competition designed to encourage everyone to decorate their home exteriors with as much Ho Ho Holiday Spirit as they can.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we think of Christmas lights, most Nassuvians remember bringing our very excited children to see the little house on Shirley St. in years past. Well, those memories inspired our Brokers to create this Christmas lighting competition. We\u2019re starting with our own East Bay St. office and I\u2019m sure the thousands of dollars in prizes will encourage many more to brighten up Christmas in Nassau,\u201d explains Larry Roberts, Bahamas Realty\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n
According to Broker Chandra Parker-McCallum, who is spearheading Bahamas Realty\u2019s Holiday Home Showcase, \u201cOur Grand Prize is a $1,000 gift certificate from Builders Mall (FYP, Tile King, and The Paint Center) and a $500 donation from Bahamas Realty to the winner\u2019s charity of choice from our approved list.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re also planning a People\u2019s Choice Award on Facebook and will be posting entries on Bahamas Realty\u2019s page so you can \u2018like\u2019 them.The property with the most likes wins the prize. We hope to create beautiful Christmas memories for today\u2019s children. The Bahamas Realty Holiday Home competition will reward people who delight their neighbourhood and passers by with jolly exterior decorations.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sara Parker, broker, creator and host of \u201cBahamas Realty NOW\u201d came up with the idea of the competition after \u201clistening to memories of Christmas Past in our sales meeting. Everyone\u2019s been really enthusiastic, including the sponsors of our show, many of whom have donated prizes such as a vacuum cleaner from Jolly Roger and five gallons of Devoe Interior Paint from Paint Suppliers, a table lamp from AG Electric and a basket of vitamin products from Seven Seas.\u00a0 We\u2019ll have details and lots of tips on the December Bahamas Realty NOW show, which premiers tonight at 8:30 pm on ZNS. (Regular times: 7 pm Mondays on JCN Cable 14 and at 8:30 pm Thursdays on ZNS Cable 11).\u201d<\/p>\n
Andrea Brownrigg, a Bahamas Realty director and a member of the steering committee for the\u00a0 Bahamas Realty Holiday Home Showcase, says, \u201cThe Holiday Home Showcase is really our way of giving back to the community. We want to see the lights and decorations go up all over Nassau and Paradise Island\u201d\u00a0 (where two of her multi-million dollar listings will be showcase entries)<\/p>\n
Everyone\u2019s involved at Bahamas Realty.\u00a0 Partners Gordon Wilde, retired Financial Controller, Donnie Martinborough, head of the busy Commercial Department, and newly named Director Lindsey Cancino, Financial Controller, are adjusting the budget and supervising the decorations at Bahamas Realty. Marketing Manager Kendenique Moxey pulled out the stops to quickly produce the electrifying entry form and advertising.\u00a0 Monica Knowles, Agent, is preparing the Facebook and Twitter campaign.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Parker McCallum adds, \u201cEntries don\u2019t have to be elaborate. We just want every one to participate, have fun and share the joy of the season. You can enter your own property or give an entry form to your neighbour and suggest they enter.<\/p>\n
\u201cEntries are due by Monday December 19th at 4 pm and can be dropped off at our East Bay St. office or emailed to holiday@bahamasrealty.bs. Please include ONE photo of your exterior decorations along with the entry form. Entries must be visible from the street and if in a gated community, access must be arranged for the judges.\u201d<\/p>\n
