\"baark-bahamas-strut-your-mutt-laura-kimble-paws-bandana\"Having fun and raising money for a wonderful cause was the name of the game on Sunday December 11th Strut your Mutt Walk-A-Thon at Goodman\u2019s Bay, for both two and fourlegged participants.<\/p>\n

Just under 100 people and their dogs took part in the event helping to raise nearly $10,000 for Baark\u2019s spay\/neuter and education programs all over the Bahamas. All \u2018strutters\u2019 received a \u2018doggie bag\u2019 filled with goodies including a delicious Ben and Jerry\u2019s ice – cream and a refreshing Sands beverage whilst the four-legged walkers each received stylish doggie bandana\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Once all the walkers returned Baark! presented several fun awards and accolades including \u2018The Prettiest Potcake\u2019 and \u2018Dog Owner Look-A-Like\u2019. Participants had brought in sponsorship pledges to help raise money and the top five amounts were also given prizes including a 4-night stay from Treasure Cay Marina, Windermere Spa Package, Bottle of personalized Ellner Brut Champagne donated by Young\u2019s Fine Wine and an iWatch donated by Think Simple.<\/p>\n

\"baark-bahamas-strut-your-mutt-laura-kimble-02\"Laura Kimble, Baark\u2019s chairmain said \u201cnot only does Strut-Your-Mutt raise money and awareness for our cause, but it\u2019s the only event that brings people together it also brings people of all ages together to celebrate and share their passion for animals.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event had three tiers of sponsors including \u2018Top Dog\u2019 sponsors Pet Food Institute and Laura Kimble Pet Friendly Real Estate, \u2018Big Dog\u2019 sponsor Palmdale Vet Clinic and \u2018Best Friend\u2019 sponsors Morley Realty, BWA\u2019s Purina, Odyssey Aviation and Micronet.<\/p>\n

Sandra Kemp, spokesperson for Pet Food Institute said \u201cThis was our first time being involved with Strut your Mutt and we were so excited to see how well received the event was. We are proud to work alongside Baark! and support the important work they do in our community\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nover 1600 free or subsidized spay and neuters not only in Nassau but the family islands including Andros and Exuma.<\/p>\n
