The Acklins Island Administrator&#8217;s Office was robbed in the  early morning hours of Saturday, police said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Acklins Administrator Gary Knowles, 42, and his 16-year-old son escaped  injury during the armed robbery, but were left shaken after the ordeal,  said Assistant Commissioner Glenn Miller, who has responsibility for  crime.<\/p>\n<p>Police reports indicate that sometime around 12:30 a.m. Knowles and his  son had just arrived at their Spring Point home, and as they entered  their residence they were confronted by two gunmen.<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly the bandits demanded cash, but were told there was none.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The men then forced Knowles and his son in their vehicle and they drove  them to the Administrator&#8217;s Office in Mason&#8217;s\u00e2  Bay, where they forced  him (Knowles) to open a safe,&#8221; Miller said. It was reported that over $200,000 was stolen from the safe.<\/p>\n<p>Following the robbery, Knowles and his son were taken to a bushy area  through a track road some distance away from the office where they were  left tied up, police said.
