{"id":1810,"date":"2010-09-08T09:27:57","date_gmt":"2010-09-08T13:27:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=1810"},"modified":"2010-09-08T09:27:57","modified_gmt":"2010-09-08T13:27:57","slug":"young-woman-found-hanging-from-ceiling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/09\/young-woman-found-hanging-from-ceiling","title":{"rendered":"Young Woman Found Hanging From Ceiling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The body of Acassia Porter was discovered Monday evening by a family member in the home she shared with her young son, off Carmichael Road.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old mother was found hanging by a leather belt from the ceiling in a bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>She was taken to hospital by ambulance but pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n<p>People close to Ms Porter said she appeared stressed lately and that she had recently broke off an engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Newspapers reported that the young woman left a suicide note but police were reluctant to confirm that detail.<\/p>\n<p>Police said they will wait for the results of a coroner&#8217;s report before officially classifying Ms Porter&#8217;s death. However, officials say the evidence strongly suggests a suicide.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third suicide of a Bahamian woman this year.
