The Rotary Club\u2019s educational programs \u2013 AIM (Academically Interested Minds) and SECME (Science, Engineering, Communications, Mathematics, Enrichment) have been operational for more than 19 years, and has produced 64 engineers from the schools of Grand Bahama.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-184858 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/rotary-bahamas-carol-rolle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/rotary-bahamas-carol-rolle.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/rotary-bahamas-carol-rolle-113x150.jpg 113w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/rotary-bahamas-carol-rolle-188x250.jpg 188w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>During the well-attended opening that included business and education officials, parents and students, Rotary Club of Lucaya&#8217;s (RCL) Program Chairman, Dennis Knowles, noted that the move to BTVI brings a new dimension, as it affords a central facility for the club and allows it to involve college level students and faculty. He added that the Science Club is a natural extension of the AIM and SECME programmes &#8211; sponsored and coordinated by RCL. Presently, there are 30 active students in the club, but additional participants are welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will prepare our students, so that they can fill the jobs of the future and to create the jobs of the future. W. Robertson.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Robertson, who was the featured speaker, welcomed the Science Club members to their new home saying, \u201cWe are excited to host the club as it aligns itself with our mission of \u2018Providing learning opportunities that enable individuals to be globally competitive and economically independent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFundamentally, we live in a globally-connected, knowledge-based society.
