ABC-TV viewers were whisked away to the Bahamas through host Ted Reinstein and the cameras that followed him.<\/p>\n
Four segments within the television special, The Best of The Bahamas, focused on travel experiences and interviews from the crew’s recent visit – January 29 to February 3.<\/p>\n
Viewers were offered an inside look at various aspects of life in the Bahamas. Bahamian cuisine, history, culture and visitor attractions were highlighted in the programme, which covered Nassau, mainland Eleuthera and Harbour Island.<\/p>\n
An on-camera interview with Minister of Tourism and Aviation Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace focused on the multiple experiences available in the islands.<\/p>\n
He explained that although many people equate the Bahamas with the Nassau\/ Paradise Island experience, this represents only about two per cent of the country’s land.<\/p>\n
He said the Bahamas aims to become the “Greek Islands of the Caribbean” – an archipelago where each island is its own destination.<\/p>\n
