ALIV has slammed the \u201cmassive disruption\u201d caused by the number porting system\u2019s temporary \u2018Black Friday\u2019 failure, which is now under investigation by regulators. Damian Blackburn, the new mobile operator\u2019s top executive, told Tribune Business that the system delays had \u201chugely\u201d impacted Aliv\u2019s promotional drive to grow its customer base on \u201cthe busiest shopping day of the year\u201d. He declined, though, to comment on whether he felt the disruption – which primarily impacted Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) customers wishing to switch to Aliv and keep their existing mobile phone numbers – was more than a coincidence.<\/p>\n
