NASSAU, The Bahamas – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Brent Symonette will lead a delegation to Havana, Cuba to participate in the Third Caricom-Cuba Ministerial Meeting, Friday, September 17, 2010.<\/p>\n
The main issues up for discussions are Caricom-Cuba relations as well as Haiti’s reconstruction following the January 12, 2010 earthquake.<\/p>\n
There will also be an exchange of views on items on the International Agenda such as:<\/p>\n
The environment and sustainable development;
\nThe Millennium Development Goals; and,
\nIntegration and political coordination in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n
Eugene Newry, First Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration will accompany Mr Symonette. Bahamas Ambassador to Cuba Vernon Burrows will meet them on their arrival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
