{"id":22062,"date":"2012-05-23T14:23:11","date_gmt":"2012-05-23T18:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=22062"},"modified":"2012-05-24T14:25:42","modified_gmt":"2012-05-24T18:25:42","slug":"severe-weather-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2012\/05\/severe-weather-alert","title":{"rendered":"Severe Weather Alert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bahamas Department of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm watch from 10:35 a.m. until 2:00p.m. Thursday 24th, May 2012.<\/p>\n<p>A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for North Andros, Bimini, Berry Islands, Grand Bahama, Abaco and their adjacent waters.<\/p>\n<p>At 10:30 a.m. radar and satellite data indicated clusters of thunderstorms moving northeast from the Florida straits toward the watched areas.<\/p>\n<p>Some of these thunderstorms have the potential to be heavy to occasionally severe at times causing strong gusty winds, dangerous lightning, heavy downpours and possible water-spout or tornadic activity.<\/p>\n<p>Boaters in the watch areas should remain alert and seek safe harbour and residents in the watch areas should stay indoors and away from windows until conditions improve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bahamas Department of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 2:00pm Thursday 24th, May 2012.
