{"id":23039,"date":"2012-06-25T20:32:06","date_gmt":"2012-06-26T00:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=23039"},"modified":"2012-06-25T20:33:00","modified_gmt":"2012-06-26T00:33:00","slug":"the-marina-operators-of-the-bahamas-charts-future-at-agm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2012\/06\/the-marina-operators-of-the-bahamas-charts-future-at-agm","title":{"rendered":"The Marina Operators Of The Bahamas Charts Future At AGM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-23041\" title=\"marina-operators\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/marina-operators.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/marina-operators.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/marina-operators-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>The Marina Operators of the Bahamas (MOB) will hold its 3rd Annual General Meeting and Workshop under the theme \u201cCharting A Steady Course Through Strengthened Partnerships\u201d this coming Thursday June 28, 2012 at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel, Nassau Bahamas.<\/p>\n<p>As stated by Immediate Past President Steve Kappeler \u201cOur theme this year is a testament to our ongoing success; it is only through the continued collaboration of effort, and ongoing partnerships with both private sector stakeholders and our government, we are able to accomplish goals that are beneficial to our sustained growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To date the MOB represents 59 marinas of the 76 licensed marinas in The Bahamas.\u00a0 With a mandate to represent the needs and interests of the marina industry, high on the agenda of the association is building and supporting the marketing efforts of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, and Promotion Boards. Some of the other accomplishments of the MOB include a establishing a strategic development plan for sector which encompasses the environment\u2019s vitality, workforce development needs, as well as recommendations in standards, certification and legislation to support the industry\u2019s sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticipants should come prepared to be engaged, as we will have open discussions with a cross section of business in our community; from insurance providers and financial institutions to various government agencies.\u00a0 In particular our partners from the Ministry of Tourism will update us on new initiatives and strategies fundamental to the support of our industry. Most of all, we are delighted to have our Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe be our keynote speaker during our lunch session.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The MOB was established just over three years ago by the Bahamas Hotel Association with support from a grant from the Inter-American Development Bank.\u00a0 BHA and the Ministry of Tourism have continued to support its development, recognizing the importance of the marina sector to tourism overall and the tremendous opportunity for growth.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop is open to the public and registration ongoing.
