NASSAU, Bahamas – After two months of proclaiming innocence in the abduction of his 4-year-old child, a Bahamian man led police to the toddler’s skeletal remains hidden in bushes near his government job, police said. <\/P><\/p>\n
No charges have yet been filed against the 28-year-old father, Garth Rolle, for the disappearance or death of his son, Ackeim, police said Tuesday. <\/P><\/p>\n
“He is still in custody assisting us with the investigation,” police Superintendent Hulan Hanna said. <\/P><\/p>\n
Rolle led police Monday to the child’s remains across the street from where he works as a mechanic for the Ministry of Works, police said. <\/P><\/p>\n
Forensic experts were examining the bones, which were clad in the tan-colored shorts, green plaid shirt and tan boots the boy was reportedly wearing when he disappeared. <\/P><\/p>\n
Ackeim went missing July 10, the day this former British colony celebrates independence. Since then, police said Rolle had been working with them to solve the case. <\/P><\/p>\n
At a news conference in July, Rolle told reporters: “I could never do anything bad to my son. I love my child.” He pleaded with Bahamians to help him find the child. <\/P><\/p>\n
Rolle told police earlier he was driving with Ackeim in the car when it stalled in front of a school in southern Nassau. He said he left the child in the car while he went for help, and when he returned minutes later, Ackeim was gone. <\/P><\/p>\n
