\nAfter a six-month investigation, police have in custody a suspect for the murder of Donelle Cordova, the 16-year-old L.W. Young High School student. The unnamed suspect is expected to be arraignment in court on Monday. <\/P><\/p>\n
After an anonymous caller tipped police off, Donelle’s partially clothed, badly bruised body was discovered May 1st in a quarry pit near the Southern Cemetery, laying face down. <\/P><\/p>\n
According to police, the young lady was clad in a blue T-shirt with red strips. They also noted that there was a severe wound to the young girl’s head and that her entire abdomen was burnt. <\/P><\/p>\n
It was later reported that the young girl was lured out of a friend’s home, where she was kidnapped by several well-known young men. It is believed by friends that she was sexually assaulted and ran over by a vehicle, resulting in the severe wound to the head. However, police have not hinted as to whether these claims are true or false. <\/P><\/p>\n
Police said that they believed the body was in the pit earlier that morning, as the decomposition process had not yet begun. <\/P><\/p>\n
Speaking with The Guardian Sunday, Press Liaison Officer Superintendent Hulan Hanna said the suspect was apprehended last week and should appear in court on Monday. <\/P><\/p>\n
He expressed relief that the case was coming to a close. <\/P><\/p>\n
Attempts to reach the Cordova family were unsuccessful up to press time. <\/P><\/p>\n
