Endorsing a top position in the United Nations for a Bahamian permanent secretary has forced the government to shuffle more top civil servants and officials have vowed to make an even more comprehensive review. <\/P><\/p>\n
The changes are affecting key government ministries. <\/P><\/p>\n
On Monday, Prime Minister Perry Christie announced that outgoing Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Missouri Sherman-Peter was being seconded as the head of Cabinet to the President of the United Nations General Assembly. <\/P><\/p>\n
It left officials to consider a replacement. <\/P><\/p>\n
The government has decided that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Patricia Rodgers will replace Mrs. Sherman-Peter. <\/P><\/p>\n
Plans have been made for the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Financial Services and Investments Colin Higgs to be transferred to the Ministry of Tourism.<\/P><\/p>\n
His position will be filled by the now Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Sheila Carey. <\/P><\/p>\n
The Undersecretary in the Office of the Attorney General Harrison Thompson will become the new Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture. <\/P><\/p>\n
The changes will take effect Monday. <\/P><\/p>\n
A government spokesman said further changes in top civil servants posts are expected soon. <\/P><\/p>\n
