There are new developments in the search for Daniel Eugene Reabuck — a man who allegedly left behind explosive materials and a copy of his driver’s license at a Fort Lauderdale hotel. <\/p>\n
Channel 10 reporter Peter D’Oench learned from sources that the body of Reabuck’s 58-year-old father was found floating near a boat in the Bahamas near Deadman’s Reef off Grand Bahama last Friday. Not far away was his expensive, Intrepid vessel, now in FBI (news – web sites) custody in Miami. The ship reportedly left a marina near the Fort Lauderdale motel April 5. <\/p>\n
\nReabuck apparently died from a gunshot wound to the head. It’s not known if the discovery is connected to the search for his son.<\/p>\n
Wednesday, investigators found white tape, granules of gunpowder, miscellaneous caliber bullets, and small electronic timing devices at Daniel Reabuck’s room at the Best Western Marina Inn and Yacht Harbor. Reabuck (pictured, right) was nowhere to be found (he had already checked out), but police did locate his driver’s license, which listed an Orlando address. <\/p>\n
Police checked that address out, but said family there reported Reabuck hasn’t lived there for more than a year. <\/p>\n
Police do have something new to go on in their search. They released a picture and description of the vehicle (pictured, left) he was last seen driving: <\/p>\n

“We’d like to find him and find out what he’s up to,” said Fort Lauderdale Det. Ed Reed. “As we know the bomb-making materials were found in the motel room. We have been no specific threats, but obviously there is a concern for public safety.” <\/p>\n
\nFort Lauderdale police have notified state and federal terrorism task forces about Reabuck. <\/p>\n
