{"id":242092,"date":"2003-05-14T12:02:58","date_gmt":"2003-05-14T16:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2003\/05\/high-intensity-police-sweep-nets-over-50"},"modified":"2003-05-14T12:02:58","modified_gmt":"2003-05-14T16:02:58","slug":"high-intensity-police-sweep-nets-over-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2003\/05\/high-intensity-police-sweep-nets-over-50","title":{"rendered":"&#39;High Intensity&#39; Police Sweep Nets Over 50"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fifty-three persons were apprehended by police officers on Friday and Saturday in connection with rape, attempted murder, and stolen vehicles. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Two firearms, a Maverick Shotgun and a .357 chrome and black revolver were also confiscated. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The arrests were the result of Police Operation &quot;High Intensity.&quot; <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The operation began at 6:17 p.m. Friday May 9, and ended May 10, at 8:40 a.m. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>The arrests were based on outstanding warrants, on a number of allegations, including 11 drug-related matters, one attempted murder, one attempted robbery, three for attempted armed robbery, one for rape, seven for stolen vehicles, and nine for illegal immigration. <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Police also arrested Dwight Cash for the attempted armed robbery of United Sanitation and Mrs. Blanche Thurston, on May 10. Cash was found in possession of a .35 revolver and six live rounds of ammunition.
