Police officers in the capital are investigating yet another armed robbery in the capital.<\/p>\n
Police reports indicated that this latest incident occurred in the Gibbs Corner and West Avenue area sometime around six o'clock yesterday morning.<\/p>\n
According Inspector Walter Evans, Press Liaison Officer for The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), a man five feet five inches tall, wearing dark coloured pants, a plaid shirt and a green tam, walked into Superwash Laundromat, held "an employee at bay and then proceeded to rob the establishment of cash." <\/p>\n
Insp Evans added that before leaving, the culprit also robbed a customer of her handbag and then fled the seen on foot. <\/p>\n
This latest incident raises the armed robbery count to three in the past five days. <\/p>\n
Police officials in Nassau are still searching for a white Nissan Sentra that transported passengers who were allegedly involved in two armed robberies on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The occupants of the car allegedly robbed two New Providence women. <\/p>\n
"A lady was in the Coconut Grove area shortly after eight o'clock on Tuesday morning," said Insp Evans. <\/p>\n
"She was walking when the white Nissan Sentra, license plate 131833, pulled up. As the car pulled up, one of the persons in the vehicle pulled a handgun on the lady and stole her handbag."<\/p>\n
The RBPF officer added that just minutes later, the second armed robbery took place. <\/p>\n
"About 10 minutes later in the Blue Hill Road and Independence Drive area, it is believed that the same Nissan Sentra pulled up next to another lady," Insp Evans explained. "As the car pulled up, an occupant produced a handgun and robbed the lady of her handbag and sped off."<\/p>\n
Police investigations into such incidents are ongoing. Anyone having any information regarding the above matters, is urged to contact the RBPF at 919.<\/p>\n
