{"id":242614,"date":"2006-06-26T11:41:39","date_gmt":"2006-06-26T15:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/06\/businessman-beaten-tied-up-and-robbed-at-his-home"},"modified":"2006-06-26T11:41:39","modified_gmt":"2006-06-26T15:41:39","slug":"businessman-beaten-tied-up-and-robbed-at-his-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/06\/businessman-beaten-tied-up-and-robbed-at-his-home","title":{"rendered":"Businessman&#8217; Beaten, Tied Up And Robbed At His Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Grand Bahama businessman was beaten, tied up and robbed at his residence in the Lucaya area by four masked men on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector Loretta Mackey, assistant press liaison officer, said the incident occurred around 9.15am in the Midshipman Road area.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, a 53year-old businessman reported that he was outside his home sometime around 9.15am on Saturday changing his vehicle&#8217;s flat tyre when he was held up by four masked men, two of whom were armed with handguns.<\/p>\n<p>The culprits ordered&#8217; the businessman into the house where they demanded cash.<\/p>\n<p>They then beat the man, stole cash, a shotgun and a quantity of shotgun shells.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector Mackey said the culprits tied up the victim using duct tape and fled the scene in the victim&#8217;s red Cherokee SD 839. She said the victim was able to attract the attention of two persons passing his home, who assisted him.<\/p>\n<p>The businessman reported the matter to the police at about 10.50am.
