{"id":242808,"date":"2006-07-19T10:47:26","date_gmt":"2006-07-19T14:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/07\/cable-bahamas-customers-complain"},"modified":"2006-07-19T10:47:26","modified_gmt":"2006-07-19T14:47:26","slug":"cable-bahamas-customers-complain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/07\/cable-bahamas-customers-complain","title":{"rendered":"Cable Bahamas Customers Complain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cable Bahamas customers are complaining about what one referred to as the company&#8217;s &#8220;inadequate digital cable services&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to The Tribune yesterday, one person said she is &#8220;sick and tired&#8221; of the problems she is experiencing with the new Cable Bahamas digital package.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When they announced this service, they made it sound so great, but its not worth half the money I am paying,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing in July 2005 that that digital cable would be launched that August in Eleuthera, and in October in Grand Bahama Abaco and New Providence with a line-up of 275 channels, the company stated that &#8220;all of our digital&#8221; cable packages have been redesigned for maximum value and choice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, according to several customers, this is not the case.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some channels get so pixellated you give up on watching whatever show or movie you were watching,&#8221; said one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Often the sound and pictures are completely out of sync and I have to turn the box off for about 10 minutes and then turn it back on to get it in sync.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Also, there are many times channels are just not available &#8211; there&#8217;s just a blue screen that says try again later.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want answers,&#8221; said another customer. &#8220;I want them to explain why the service is so bad.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to a 2005 press release, director of marketing and pay-per-view for Cable Bahamas David Burrows stated that &#8220;Oceans Digital TV will revolutionise cable television and entertainment in the Bahamas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Oceans Digital TV means hundreds of channels &#8211; many never before seen on cable TV in the Bahamas,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It means new choices.
