{"id":243251,"date":"2006-09-05T11:28:21","date_gmt":"2006-09-05T15:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/09\/police-make-big-drug-bust-in-nassau"},"modified":"2006-09-05T11:28:21","modified_gmt":"2006-09-05T15:28:21","slug":"police-make-big-drug-bust-in-nassau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/09\/police-make-big-drug-bust-in-nassau","title":{"rendered":"Police Make Big Drug Bust in Nassau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Around 10:30am Sunday, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) executed a warrant on a home in the Sandilands Village area where they discovered eight kilos of cocaine and two and a half pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value in excess of $120,000, police said.<\/p>\n<p>This latest incident followed a similar incident that led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man. <\/p>\n<p>In that case, police said they discovered nine plastic bags containing a substance believed to be marijuana. <\/p>\n<p>Police said the drugs weighed in excess of 43 pounds and had a street value of more than $43,000.<\/p>\n<p>In other news from the crime beat:<\/p>\n<p>The country\uff92s 37th homicide victim was identified as Hosea Lightbourne, a Coral Harbour resident.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Lightbourne was shot multiple times while walking through the Bain Town area around 3:45pm Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>Reports indicate that police have since arrested at least one suspect, who was attempting to leave the country for Miami, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Active police investigations were ongoing into the matter.<\/p>\n<p><small>By: Macushla N.
