{"id":243495,"date":"2006-09-29T10:57:17","date_gmt":"2006-09-29T14:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/09\/man-dies-on-fishing-trip"},"modified":"2006-09-29T10:57:17","modified_gmt":"2006-09-29T14:57:17","slug":"man-dies-on-fishing-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2006\/09\/man-dies-on-fishing-trip","title":{"rendered":"Man Dies On Fishing Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to Inspector Walter Evans, press liaison officer for the Royal Bahamas Police Force, on Tuesday afternoon two men set off on a vessel near Montagu but returned soon after when one of them began experiencing &#8220;difficulties.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[During] the fishing trip one of the persons experienced some difficulties,&#8221; said Insp Evans. &#8220;One of the men was brought to shore in a lifeless state.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Up to press time yesterday, the name of the victim was not released but Insp. Evans said that the man is believed to be in his early 40&#8217;s and a resident of the eastern area of New Providence. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were no signs of physical injuries,&#8221; police said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After the police&#8217;s initial examination, we do not suspect foul play,&#8221; said Insp Evans. &#8220;An autopsy has to be performed to determine the exact cause of death.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In other crime news:<\/p>\n<p>* Police are still investigating the late night robbery of a Quick Cell booth, located on C W Saunders Highway, that took place on Tuesday night. <\/p>\n<p>Two employees of the booth were held up at gunpoint by a &#8220;dark male&#8221; wearing a white cap, according to Insp Evans.&#8221;Upon approaching the booth he pulled up his shirt and produced a handgun. As a result of that, he escaped with a small quantity of cash and several phone cards,&#8221; said the officer.
